WV Living’s 2018 “Best of West Virginia” list released

WV Living has recognized several Hampshire County favorites in the magazine’s annual “Best of West Virginia” list.

Romney mayor Beverly Keadle won “Best Mayor,” in a three-way tie with Huntington mayor Steve Williams and Wheeling mayor Glenn Elliott.

In Capon Bridge, The Farmer’s Daughter Market & Butcher won the “best burger” and “best butcher shop” categories, and The River House won “best music venue.” Capon Springs and Farms won “best family vacation spot.”

In addition to statewide categories, the 2018 list also includes regional winners. For the Potomac Highlands region, Capon Springs and Farms won the “best place to stay” category and Farmer’s Daughter won “best casual dining restaurant.”

The complete list will be published in WV Living’s winter 2018 issue, which is also the magazine’s 10th anniversary issue.

“I love that our 10th anniversary issue contains our annual Best of West Virginia winners, because WV Living is all about showcasing the people and the places that make our state unique,” founder and publisher Nikki Bowman said. “It’s more than just a magazine—we’re a community builder. We tell the story of who we are, and who we are becoming.”

This is the magazine’s sixth-annual “Best of West Virginia” list. Each year, WV Living asks its readers to nominate their favorite restaurants, shops, towns, destinations, people, and more. Those nominations—which numbered in the thousands for 2018—are tallied to determine each year’s list.
