A Franklin Furnace, Ohio, native and University of Kentucky graduate, Dave Lavender is a multimedia journalist. He has worked in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia writing for newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, and social media.  In Huntington for the past 19 years, he was one of West Virginia’s first convergent journalists working for nine years simultaneously for the daily newspaper, The Herald Dispatch, in radio on Clear Channel and iHeart Media, and on television with WSAZ. In his time in Huntington, he has also served on nearly a dozen volunteer boards. He is currently assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 21 and on the board for the Cabell-Huntington Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Cabell-Huntington Coalition for the Homeless, the Green High School Alumni Association, and the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition. He is the author of two “DaveTrippin” travel books. Dave and his wife Toril, a photographer, live in Huntington. They have two sons. Jacob is a sophomore at WVU and Will is a junior at Huntington High School.
